Forgive me the cringy alliteration! but it really is a great time to be looking after our bodies and minds. Take your cues from nature…
-Shorter days=earlier bedtimes, try a guided yoga Nidra meditation before bed or find a singing bowls track to fall asleep to. (The app “insight timer” is free and has lots)
-Berries and fruits are ripe=stock up on vitamin C for the cold months ahead.
-Colder days=make the most of the last few barefoot days, grounding in nature while it’s warm enough. Begin to wrap up warmer and enjoy nourishing soups and healing teas, boost immunity and circulation with walks or on your mat/at class.
-Darker days/limiting weather= Accept the slow pace, stay home, light a candle, go yin, meditate, find the jnana path of knowledge ie read and learn.
-Body fatigued/ sluggish/feeling low=run a bath, use your aromatherapy oils, book yourself a massage, try some self massage or accupoints-see below. Accept the call to rest and find a feel good film, music album, podcast, book.
I’m a bit biased of course but getting our bodies on the mat for any type of yoga is going to make us feel good mentally and physically too. The hardest bit sometimes is just getting there! Once we are it’s easy.
