FIRE ELEMENT-SUMMER

RRY Yin Yogis will know Summer is the season of the Fire element in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine.) Within 5 element theory we have just moved through spring’s wood element-sowing seeds of intention and detoxifying ready to step into our most active state of the year, achieving ambitions and feeling a sense of strength and empowerment, inspired from the nature around us putting on displays of bright beauty and life and the longer days of light. This element is associated with the energy of the heart meridian-that outward connection to others and the love and compassion we give to them and ourselves.

Nourishing the Heart Qi and the Fire element- here are a few ways you can do this:

• Bitter foods
• Meals with loved ones
• Meditation
• Prayer
• Walk barefoot in nature
• Create! Art, doodles, poems whatever
• Moments of awe
• Dancing/ Music
• Singing
• Connection
• Enjoying being outdoors on these lighter days

Note that most of these things don’t cost much money, if any at all! Enjoy honouring this season and if you’re really not feeling that fire within that’s fine! Rest. Winter blooms are just as pretty.
